Research Analyst
Entry-Level Research Analyst Qualifications:
- BA or BS; outstanding undergraduate academic record
- Exceptional quantitative skills: experience analyzing data using Excel, R, SAS, SPSS, or Stata
- MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Advanced Excel a plus
- Interest in policy and/or education and/or management/leadership
- Teamwork: ability to act as supportive team member, follow through on work responsibly
- Concern for Order: ability to keep track of details, check own work rigorously
- Analytical/Critical Thinking: ability to interpret data with unbiased, critical thinking
- Communication: ability to communicate clearly in writing, pleasantly in person
- Quality Focus: willingness to give and receive significant feedback to produce first-rate work
- Flexibility: ability to juggle multiple projects and do what it takes to accomplish tasks

Media and Communications Assistant Qualifications: 1 opening (start date Jan – June)
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or related field
- Some experience (volunteer and/or paid) using social media, such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, ideally for an organization (not just personal use); experience using social media analytics a plus
ï Some experience with short-form, non-academic writing (reporting, blogging, organizing, grants, etc.)
ï Ability to follow in-house style guide; experience with or willingness to learn APA style
- Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter committed to quality and results
- Demonstrated commitment to completion of tasks on a timely basis
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Flexible, resourceful, and good-humored in a fast-paced, results-oriented, multitasking culture
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in teams with diverse members
- Experience maintaining contact database (e.g., media contacts, e-blast list) or similar preferred
- Experience editing or copyediting, preferably at a newspaper, and/or videography a plus
- Excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Office software; advanced PowerPoint a plus
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) a plus

- Outstanding writing, with 2+ years of writing experience (paid work or, if substantial volume, volunteer)
- Level-headed, apolitical, solutions-focused thinking shown in writing, including in any prior education writing
- Excellent teamwork, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to follow an in-house style management; knowledge of APA style preferred
- Willingness to give and receive significant feedback to produce first-rate work

- Demonstrable portfolio of published work
